The harvest starts in Grandes Vinos

After a year of expectation, today, September 3rd starts in Grandes Vinos the 2015 vintage expecting a crop of very good quality.

We begin with white varieties and red grape varieties of French origin Merlot situated at a lower altitude (about 350-400 meters). Under these conditions the grapes mature faster and therefore the optimum grape harvest is earlier than the rest.

Several days later it is expected to kick off the other red varieties such as Garnacha, Tempranillo, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignan, probably in that order but it depends on the area and the height at which the vineyards are located.

In Grandes Vinos we have 40% of the vineyard ready for mechanical harvesting so it will enable us harvesting in the early morning (around the 4h -5h am) so that the grapes are kept at the ideal temperature to avoid fermentation way to the cellar.
